Dr. Shorter is a professor in the Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance at the University of California Los Angeles. His 2009 book, We Will Dance Our Truth, won a national book award for its anthropological and yet autobiographical portrayal of the indigenous myths and legends he learned while living in a tribe in Mexico. He is one of the few tenured professors in the US teaching paranormal studies (aliens, UFOs, psychics, and ghosts) in a research university. He consults for both entertainment industry teams and individuals in matters pertaining to his specialties in paranormal studies, the occult, and indigenous peoples. In 2013 he completed his first film as producer and director. "Lutu Chuktiwa (Cutting the Cord)" is a study of an all night ritual among the Yoeme Indians in which they release themselves from a year of mourning after a tribal member dies. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Jake Agan
