Illie Dawson (pronounced "I'Lee") grew up in North Carolina but spent most of the summer's of his youth in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Illie's interest in acting was sparked during an audition for a play when he was in the 2nd grade. A few years after graduating high school, Illie attended East Carolina University where he majored in fine arts. While attending East Carolina University, Illie studied illustration, graphic design, painting and drawing. Illie made several attempts to switch majors to become a theater major but the program deemed difficult to get into due to the number of people that were applying. It wasn't until his last semester that he was able to take a class in improvisational acting. Illie graduated from ECU with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. Encouraged by a friend, he decided to attend a casting call for Iron Man 3(2013), which led to being signed on to be Donald Cheadle's stunt double. He made his big screen appearance in Tammy(2014) as Officer Glen, opposite Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon.
