Born in Boston, USA, Nyk Fry was raised in England by mother Natalie and adopted father, Bill who is a PhD in chemistry, which no doubt helped the young Nyk see the world through both his naturally artistic eyes, but also scientific. He returned to the USA in 1988. He studied everything from acting to physics to writing, and art, and although it was to become part of his profession did not study music formally after being told he couldn't sing well enough to learn the violin at school. In subsequent interviews, Fry has said he really loves orchestral music (and is now arranging orchestra for film projects, as well as rock) but that what they didn't do at school was ask him if he knew he was singing off key due to nerves, which he did. He would have loved to have become a violinist. He picked up the electric guitar, however, at age 15, and even built a few instruments as a poor teenager. One electric bass the "Frankenbass" survives to this day, and Nyk still uses it. From 1998-2002, Nyk produced The FluiD Television Show - "A Man, A Camera, And A Pair of Shorts. The Mission: To Find Anything Interesting". Perhaps back then that confused TV guide because they cursed it with the category "Variety". Remember this was before "Reality" was real. Has coincidentally spent enough time on stages and in recording studios as musician and engineer/producer to be at least as sarcastic as Simon Cowell. Directed Air Supply's 30th Anniversary DVD "The Singer and the Song", as well as music videos for Brandie Frampton, Vanton, and PVH Project. A spoof commercial he made went crazily viral, and was featured on Fox New Network January 2008. 2008 has seen the completion of Nyk's first feature, "Reflections in the Mud". - IMDb Mini Biography By: Life
