Demosthenes Chrysan is a native New Yorker who has worked with such world-renowned theater directors as Bartlett Sher at Broadway's Belasco Theatre, and Howard Davies at London's Royal National Theatre. Recently Demosthenes appeared in the Broadway production of JUNK by Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar, directed by Doug Hughes at Lincoln Center Theater. In addition to performing the classics, he has originated leading roles in many world-premiere productions, including the Drama-Desk-nominated "Aftermath," for New York Theatre Workshop, and has excelled at playing characters of diverse nationalities and cultures, including Russian, Arab, Israeli, Greek and Afghan. On American and British television, he has worked opposite Tina Fey, Louis CK, Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Graham and Peter Mullan to name a few. Before beginning his acting career, Demosthenes received a Bachelor of Arts from New York University, double-majoring in Politics & History and a Masters of International Affairs, from Columbia University. Demosthenes began his acting studies under the tutelage of Elizabeth Dillon, at HB Studios and has been working as a professional actor since 2001.
